We got to the adventure center and they told us how to put on the wetsuits we would be using. That was exercise in and of its self! And of course I put my wetsuit on inside out and have to start all over again! But after that debacle all of us headed out to the beach. We paired up and each pair carried two surfboards, and they are not light. We were given a quick lesson and safety rules and then we hit the water. I have to say that the wetsuits did keep me a lot warmer then I expected. I was expecting ice cold, freezing water. I mean like Donate's Inferno. But it turned out to be pretty comfortable. I mean to be honest my face was numb, but besides that I was good!
I've never gone surfing before (despite growing up in Hawaii) but I have gone boogiboarding and body surfing a lot and the basic rules still applied. I was able to stand up and catch all of one wave! It was super fun and I really enjoyed the experience, I can also now say I have swam in both the Pasific and Alantic oceans!
